Summer 2010 Class Schedule

at the Community Fine Arts Center in Rock Springs, Wyoming!

Space is limited in all these classes and we do require pre-registration for all classes!

Children’s Classes:

 

ArtCamp 2010 -- students 5th - 9th grade

Session I: June 28 - July 1

Session II: July 12 - 15

Class will be held Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Western Wyoming Community College Room 1108 (the art room) and costs just $30.  Students this year will work with acrylic paints, oil pastels, block prints, fantasy art, pop art and sharpen their drawing skills.

 

“A is for Art” classes for 1st through 4th graders

Tuesday afternoons in July from 4 to 5 p.m.

Students will do an art or craft project every week. These classes are free but students need to sign up before hand. Parents may need to be available to assist.

 

Knit a Scarf

Students age 10 and up

Tuesdays, Aug. 10, 17, 24, & 31 from 4 to 5:30 pm

Learn to knit by making a basic dishcloth first and complete a scarf to wear back to school in the Fall!

Warning: There will be homework! J

Supplies of knitting needles and yarn will be provided. Kit fee: $10 

 

 

Adult Classes:

 

Beaded Watch Band

Thursday, June 10 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

or Friday, June 11 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Supply fee: $10 and students are to bring their own watch face, or may choose one to order through Jennifer but they need to let her know ASAP if they are ordering! All other supplies and tools are included in this class.

 

Wire Wrap Ring

Thursday, July 22 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

or Friday, July 23 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Supply fee: $10

Learn the art of wire wrapping with a focal bead or stone to wear on your finger!

 

PAPER ARTS

1. Paste Paper Making

Thursday, August 12 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Supply fee: $10.

Taught by Debora Soule and Jennifer Messer, all the supplies will be provided to learn how to make colorful patterned paste papers along with ideas of how to use them for scrap booking, crafting, book making and art projects.

 

2. Book Making

Thursday, August 19 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Supply fee: $10.

Again all the supplies will be provided and students will learn techniques for folding, binding and decorating handmade books. Debora Soulé will share several techniques.

 

3. Collage Art

Thursday, August 26 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Supply fee: $10  

Jennifer Messer will teach creating collages with Jonathan Talbot’s techniques using gel medium and heat to fuse works together. All supplies will be provided to learn how to create collages and artists of all experience levels will be welcome to participate.
