CFAC 2007-2008 Calendar

The following performances and events are made possible

Sweetwater BOCES, and the Wyoming Arts Council.

National Watercolor Society Traveling Exhibition
		August 15 - October 1, 2007
		The 86th Annual Traveling Exhibition featuring an array of outstanding watercolor artists from the United States and around the world.

*Sofrito!*
		September 12, 2007 -- RSHS Theatre, 7:00 p.m.
		David Gonzalez and the Latin Legends Band combine masterful storytelling and the hot musical sounds for the whole family to enjoy! Sofrito! is part theatre, part stand-up, part Latin big-band concert, part sing-along and part dance party!

Community Mandala Exhibition
		October, 2007
		Everyone is invited to exhibit their own mandalas in this special display. Wednesday Night Drawing Group will explore different techniques of making mandalas during September. Call or visit the CFAC for more information.

Howard Hart Turned Wood Exhibition
		November - December, 2007
		Local wood turning expert Howard Hart will again exhibit a wide variety of bowls, vases and unique turned wood objects for the public to enjoy. Many pieces will be available for purchase from Howard. Reception to be scheduled.

Colcannon : a Christmas Concert
	December 3, 2007, at 7 p.m. in the RSHS Theatre
	Colcannon, the Celtic group from Colorado, will return to Rock Springs with a special concert for the holidays! A school performance will be held earlier in the day.

Paul Taylor: Australian School Residencies
		January 7 -17, 2008
		Paul brings the "outback" of Australia into our local classrooms. Westridge Elementary School in Rock Springs is discovering the Outback this year. This event is co-sponsored by Sweetwater BOCES.

Kay Meeks Exhibition
		January 15 through Febuary 15, 2008
		Daniel, Wyoming artist Kay Meeks will be displaying recent work in oils and pastels. Her subjects range from landscapes to ranch scenes. A closing reception is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 15^th.

The Enchantment Theatre presents “The Velveteen Rabbit”
			March 14, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the RSHS Theatre
			The beloved children’s story comes to life on the stage. A children’s performance will be scheduled and an evening performance for the whole family!

ArtCamp 2008
		June -- call for details beginning May 1st.
		The CFAC and Sweetwater BOCES team together to hold two weeklong art instruction workshops for students 6th through 9th grade. Learn the basics and beyond! For information, call the CFAC at 362-6212.

Wyoming Shakespeare Festival Company
		July 2008 -- tentative date
		The Wyoming Shakespeare Company is presenting "HAMLET” in this free performance. Donations will be welcomed by the WSF.

Western and Wild Horse Art Show and Sale
		July 11-12, 2008 - Prospectus will be available and mailed by mid-March
		This show has been held the past five years with the assistance of the CFAC, Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce, and Sweetwater Travel and Tourism Board and the Wyoming Arts Council. And where would we be without the many community volunteers and the artists!
